I decided to set myself an organic modelling challenge based on minimal reference. I chose to develop one of my favourite pieces of brand design…Jaguar.
The cat was modelled from photographic reference and a walk in visit to my local dealership for observational understanding. I was pleased with the outcome, although I was unable to gather enough reference for the underside of the body. Most images tend to be either side on or the classic three quarter view.
The first video is of the standard logo configuration as seen in the dealerships and as used by Jaguar for its current brand identity. The movement in the reflection is a complete revolution of the lighting rig used to light my model. This enabled me to loop the sequence indefinitely as a place holder.
The next task was to experiment with Arnold Renders’ texturing and lighting for the creation of a sequence that complemented a specific set of subject titles.
